Day 1: Arrive Auckland: Welcome to New Zealand. Take in the panoramic views of Auckland from the iconic Sky Tower. Discover world-class food and wine in Auckland’s many eateries and immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant nightlife.

Day 2: Auckland – Waitomo Caves: Tour Hamilton and see the giant free flight aviary. Next visit the Hobbiton Movie Set created for “Lord of the Rings” and “Hobbit” films. Then visit Waitomo Caves- a vast cave systems decorated with glow-worms which you see on a gentle boat cruise.

Day 3: Waitomo Caves – Rotorua: Your journey to Rotorua will take you through a fascinating mixture of farmland, lake lands and forests. Rotorua is packed with activities, and many must do experiences.

Day 4: Rotorua: Explore the region’s many geothermal wonders and discover unique Maori culture with a cultural performance and delicious hangi meal.

Day 5: Rotorua – Taupo: The geothermal sights continue as you travel towards the resort town of Lake Taupo. At Huka Falls take a break and watch the raging water plumet over the falls.

Day 6: Taupo – Wellington: The drive from Taupo to Wellington is a stunning mixture of volcanoes, rivers valleys and wide-open plains. In Waiouru, the QE2 Memorial Museum is well worth a look and is the stunning Mangaweka Gorge. Wellington is known as the world’s coolest little capital.

Day 7: Wellington: Wellington is compact, cultured, and full of character. Spend the morning visiting the city’s many art galleries and museums, including the stunning national Museum of New Zealand, later walk to the summit of Mount Victoria for 360-degree city views

Day 8: Wellington – Picton – Nelson: Travel across the Marlborough Sounds in one of the world’s most scenic ferry trips. From the picturesque seaside town of Picton travel west to Nelson and stop at one of the many vineyards that make this region so famous for wine. Also see the Split Apple rock.

Day 9: Nelson – Greymouth: From Nelson drive past magical scenery and tiny settlements and navigate the awesome Buller Gorge till you reach the coast where spectacular views of wild beaches and views of Tasman Sea follow you to Greymouth.  

Day 10: Greymouth – Franz Josef Glacier – Fox Glacier: Wander through the forest canopy at the nearby Treetops Walk. From the glacier terminal get up close to Franz Josef Glacier join a guided walk or heli-flight and walk on the ice itself and see the Fox Glacier.  

Day 11: Franz Josef Glacier – Wanaka: Waterfalls and river scenery greet you into the Haast Pass. The road snakes through the Aspiring National Park to reach the lakeside town of Wanaka which has a variety of unique attractions.

Day 12: Wanaka – Queenstown: The short one-hour drive from Wanaka to Queenstown has plenty of break points along the way. Queenstown is an exciting mix of sophistication, stunning scenery, and adventure. It is the perfect place to try bungy jumping, jet boating, horse trekking, rafting, and skydiving.

Day 13: Queenstown – Milford Sound: Picturesque drive to Milford Sound passes through lakes and tunnels. Enjoy a cruise on the amazing 22km-long fiord is dominated by Mitre Peak and scattered with waterfalls, vertical rock faces and unique wildlife. Optional small plane or helicopter rides available.

Day 14: Leave Queenstown – home: Depart Queenstown on your homeward journey
